Katie,
Your school friend Margo McCalip is now Margo Hughey and she is a member of this board so the two of you can renew acquaintances. I remember Margo did a lot of posts recently on the Lincoln School.

Katie,
I had an email from Margo and she is still in Missouri where she went to celebrate Thanksgiving with some of her family. She said she's doing fine, gets worn out easily, but as long as she gets her afternoon nap in, she's fine. She will be back in town late Saturday night.

The First Lincoln School In Columbus Indiana (1895 or before)
Once Called the First Ward School
Located & Still Standing Corner 2nd & Franklin Street
Columbus, Indiana

This is one of the best old views of the school I have found.

Margo and her sisters and my brother and I attended this school in the 1940s. This picture is unique that it shows the Bartholomew County Courthouse. Behind the school in the early days was a Livery Stable and the Crump Theater.
