Took photos today of the old metal bridge at 31 and 10th/Taylor Road. It is slated for demo on September 27th/28th. I just compared my photos of that bridge and the one that was replaced on the OTHER end of 31 a couple years ago. They appear to be exactly the same. I'll try to post photos.

Rhonda,
I feel sure both are the same bridges, as they both were built the same time as National Rd., I'm glad you got pictures of them.

Here's the bridge on the south end of 31. As of tonight, it's still standing. It does match the one that was on the other end of 31.

I Remember This Long Ago 1898 House Do You?(1) Who Originally lived in the home? (2) Who was the last person or family to live in it before razing? (3) Where was it located? Comment: I found this picture in my files and wasn't sure if it was posted before.

Very interesting house, Bob.
I sure don't remember it, but there is something about it that is strangely familiar.

Here is a labeled postcard of the Irwin home showing many of the similarities of the old photo. Hope this works! Every time I go in to load another photo, they've changed the program!

That is the Irwin home.......now the Inn at Irwin Gardens. This photo was recently on Ebay for sale, and dated 1898. That is 5th Street you see runnning past the front. If you compare this photo with a more recent one, you can see the entrance is pretty much the same. Both those porches have since been removed, and the roofline greatly changed over the decades. It is also prior to the gardens being put in. All that being said...We know that is has NOT been razed! I Remember This Long Ago 1898 House Do You?(1) Who Originally lived in the home? (2) Who was the last person or family to live in it before razing? (3) Where was it located? Comment: I found this picture in my files and wasn't sure if it was posted before.

2,517 Historic Columbus/Bartholomew County Pictures By FlickrApparently, the Bartholomew County Historical Society has released or posted over 2,000 pictures ranging from the later dates of the 1800s through almost the present dates. It is a very amazing time consuming event to research and post all those pictures, but fantastic for the history buffs and interested board members herein. How To View The Pictures:After you call up the below website look to the right. You will see wording this photo belongs to: "Bartholomew History and also the wording Bartholomew History Photostream."Below the wording above you will see 5 small pictures. On the end to the left and on the right you will see the direction arrows like this < then pictures and another direction arrow>. If you go to either arrow it will continue to load a new picture. HOWEVER...you must mouse each picture to view them all. Final Note Before Opening Page. When you go to the below website it consists of 7 pages. Once you open one photo, then the arrow procedures described above can be used. Go Here To See The Historical Pictures:www.flickr.com/search/?q=&w=46717556%40N05#page=4I hope you find yourself in a picture as I did. Enjoy this wonderful posting of very old and quality pictures.
