Ponderosa Steak House and a pizza parlor was located on Marr Rd just behind this center. Ponderosa was built in the late 60's. Ponderosa on Marr Rd was the first to have Tuesday night specials and also was the first to have a banquet room. Just think on how Tuesday night became a night that was adopted across the nation. I am sure a lot of eating places would have wished it never happened. Haha

Let's go back to the 70's. A ribeye steak, a bake potato, a bowl of salad....$1.39 a drive out to county stadium to see the Ponderosa Playmakers play...priceless

My how times have changed. In the 70's Ponderosa gave out flowers that were flown in from Hawaii to each woman on Easter and Mothers day. Ladies would dress up to the nines and no one wore slacks. I can remember that there were lines outside way down the side of the building. Everyone was well behaved and I know the mothers really looked forward to their day. Now if you see a lady in a dress you stare and ask yourself "what's she up to"
