Bob, Unless I'm mistaken, Jerry's didn't open until after mid-1964, which is when I moved to Tennessee. I ate there several times when I'd be home visiting the folks. In their latter years, Jerry's served a pretty decent breakfast, but when it came to their basic sandwiches, I always liked Frisch's better.

The following is in the Looking Back feature in today’s edition of The Republic newspaper.
A Columbus landmark for 36 years, Jerry’s Restaurant has closed.
If my math is correct, Jerry’s opened in Columbus in 1964 as Gregg said in his post February 2, 2007.

It was easy to find Jerry's in the days before GPS - just follow the police cars! (And I don't think Jerry's even had particularly good doughnuts.)

The following information is from 1964. It was in the Looking Back feature in the September 3, 2014, edition of The Republic. Plans to build a Jerry’s drive-in restaurant at National Road (US31) and 17th Street and a Best-Way Truck terminal on Carr Hill Road near Interstate 65 were some of the commercial developments before the Columbus Plan Commission.
