Mr. Thompson: Thank's so much for these great Junior City Slickers pictures, especially the one of you and Spike together! I discovered Spike Jones music a few years later when he was nearly forgotten and was always amazed at how popular he once was! Were there any other impersonation groups like yours? What you were doing appears to have been unique. Did you ever consider staying in show business? Anyway, thanx for your contribution to the history of Columbus! We would love to see pictures of your later life as well when you ran a very fondly remembered business. This forum is meant to document all the interesting trivia about life in Columbus and all the stores we shopped at and places we worked. Tommy Thompson Behind The Scenes Successful BusinessTommy's sense of humor was not only with the Junior City Slickers but extended to his picture here in a Halloween mask during the year of 1958 at his business. Tommy also sold slot cars and provided a large track to run the slots. Then in 1960 Tommy took the mask off (far right)

In 1949 the Junior City Slickers performed for three nights at the Island House Hotel on Mackinac Island, Michigan. They promoted the show by touring the downtown district during the days. They returned in 1950 for eight nights. L to R: Horses, Ed Shumway, driver, Phil Davis, LaVerne Lani (below), Gerald Wiley, Tom Thompson, Jean Givens Boll, Fred VanGilder, Roland Hlultsch
