Hi Juarnez:
All posts are active and await members and guests postings about the subjects. As you can see since you posted herein, that the subject in question is still active. We would encourage all that have anything to post about any subject on the list of the Historical Message Board, to please post the information. We would further ask that individuals that post information to sign up as an active member. We look forward to your membership and postings of historical relationships to Columbus. The boards are full of Columbus history dating back to the early 1800s through the present date. Thanks for asking an important question that actually applies to all subject areas.

That is interesting, Jack. I can only imagine the stories she could tell!
I also ran across the Johnson-Bey family early today. I'll post a link later (I need to find it again!)
I'm finding the 1940 census data extremely interesting...still looking for my dad. I went through all 83 pages in East Columbus last night and found nothing. Now I'm searching Columbus proper. It could be that he was a transient in 1939...

Traffic and changes to their website seem to be improving. I noticed today that pages were loading much faster.
Gotta run! Be back later!

I grew up on Base Road 1972 and still today my family lives there. I NEVER heard this name. I'm not saying that it was the best choice of names, but facts are facts. If you truly never heard anyone refer to it as Nigger Hill Road, you must not have been listening very closely or never spent much time around people who lived out that way prior to the early '60s.
