Danner's address in the 1966 City Directory was 25th & Beam Road. Was Danner's a part of Columbus before Columbus Center was built? I remember it being located about in the middle of the shopping center.

I remember it being located about in the middle of the shopping center. Danner's was nest to the Trolly Stop Cafe dinner to one side and JoAnns Fabrics to another side, the fabric shop became Hook's medical supplies later. Danner's started when Columbus Center was built in that location at least. I remember Danner's well as a kid in the 60s I was there every weekend while mom shopped at the Jay C Food for groceries. I have a black and decker drill I bought there in 1969 that I still use and used last week. Paid $9 for it.

I remember Danner's from when I was growing up, and then later I worked there the year they closed. That was a bittersweet position as I knew they were going to close when I hired on, but they needed someone to help with moving merchandise, willing to operate the matting cutter for photo mats and that knew a bit about crafts.
As a child my grandmother (Mary Dionne) would take me there after we had a snack or light lunch at the Trolley Shop next door. She would then get oil painting brushes or boards that she needed to paint on. We would then go to Jo-Ann's and she would get thread or whatever she needed for the sewing project she was doing at the time if the people didn't bring everything she needed as she sewed for a few women she knew.
