Thanks Ricky and Bubba, Knew someone would get this posted today. Appreciate it. I just didn't have the time to spend looking for it on the Republic's website. Too busy trying to get organized for my garage sale on Friday.

George, I think Babs may go to the Edinburg/Taylorsville Antique store and get one just for you. George it was also nice meeting you and your wife Saturday. You are sure wonderful folks and Carol and I both enjoyed looking at your collections. Keep up the good postings and those cards you have are fantastic. We went to that Antique Store twice during the days we were there. That is a great place to spend 2-3 days looking if not more.

Thank you Bob, we go to the 76 antique mall 2 or 3 times a month, we usually meet Rita's sister there that is from Franklin, the one I was telling you about, we have been to several antique malls around here, but the 76 is by far the best.

George, we antique all the time in the South. We do it less the last few years, but almost every weekend a few years ago. We both love antiques. Carol likes furniture and I am a glass guy like Babs husband Don. It is fun to stand looking at items, and then try to think of a story about the item. That is the greatest part.

Sorry George, no toasters! I'm thinking why is he asking me if I have any toasters? I completely forgot I had mentioned having a garage sale. Duh!
Also didn't sign in for a long enough time, so my previous post got lost. I get so mad at myself when I do that and now I have to try to reconstruct what all I said before. I am just not with it today.
Most of the time I do just give our things to Goodwill or Salvation Army but as we have a few pieces of Hummel...plates and bells....also some Delft pottery from Holland, a few Precious Moments figurines and some odds and ends of glass that is too expensive to just throw out, I am giving in and having a garage sale. Where we live is sort of out of the way, so no idea if we will get any traffic or not, but I did put an ad in the newspaper. About killed me to have to pay their prices but you gotta do what you gotta do. I have a coffee maker George, interested in that? :-( Just teasing!
Happy Anniversary Bob and Carol!

Say, our new member Babba should be very knowledgeable in Columbus history, considering his age. Welcome aboard Babba.

Thanks Babs.........We had our first garage sale last summer and made a lot of green selling stuff we had stored and would never use again. Good luck.....and George go buy something from Babs and display it next year at the 2008 Historical Celebration.

Don't think I have anything that would qualify as "historical" or even "antique" with the exception I do have a small notebook, dated 1916 from Swift Fertilizer. No idea where that came from; its new, never written in and in very good condition. I've put it into a plastic bag to keep it that way just in case someone wants/collects items like this. Mostly I am selling a lot of glassware (surprise surprise) and just household things we don't need. Sorry no toasters though George. :-(
Had lots of garage sale, mostly when we lived in Florida and it is a good way to clean house and get rid of stuff you don't really need. I'm always surprised some item you think you will have to throw away and it will be just what someone needs. I always have a box of "free" stuff too. Don't think I've ever made much "green" but I like the fact I'm cleaning out and making space to buy more! :-) Margo recently had a sale for her Hoosiers Helping Our Troops and she made over $500, which I thought was great!
If the mood strikes me, I may jump in and make some cookies to sell too; thats always a good way to make a few dollars. Garage salers can work up an appetite ya know.
I'm planning on donating some of my "earnings" to the Historic Columbus website, after expenses, etc. Thats one reason I'm even having the sale as it is a lot of hard work but thought this was a great cause and we need the money for the site. So everyone is welcome, come on by! :-)

Babs, my mom is also having a garage sale this weekend. George, I'll scout around and see if she has anything that you might like to have!

I have added a new page to the Historic Columbus Indiana website. It is a pictorial of our 2nd Annual Columbus Historic Celebration, accompanied with a song!
Bob, I hope you don't mind that I used the pics that you put on the Message Board...
Thanks...for the memories...

Tell Alice good luck. I hope we have nice weather. So she's gonna get rid of stuff before the move huh? Smart thing to do; thats what I did for years when Don was in service, clean out and usually I'd take to the thrift shop on base. Then when we moved to Florida, I was still in the mode of cleaning out (got that from my mom) so I'd have a sale every few years just to make room for more new stuff coming in, which never seems to stop ya know!

Okay I managed to get to the last 50 posts just now, but for the life of me, David where is the post with all the pictures and the song? I've looked and looked and can't locate it?
I must really be stupid!

FYI: Before Nanc left to go back home, she went to the Visitor's Center and asked them to carry our notecards that she had made for our event. They agreed so we should have a little income now and then from that. We did sell a few of her notecards on Saturday but not as many as we would've liked.
Also for those who've asked, she is a little under the weather and not up to posting, but it shouldn't be long and she will be back and ready to post. She said the medicine she's taking makes her sleepy so thats about all she's been doing since she got home.

Rhonda, I don't think it was your pictures that slowed things down. I think it was just a glitch in the system...
Babs, the pictures and song are on the website. Go to the main page and scroll down until you find the link to our Celebration.
I'm redoing the song, as it's taking wayyyyy too long for it to load.
I'm sure that nanc TOTALLY overdid it while she was here, being sick and all. Sounds like she is doing exactly what she needs to do...finally getting some much needed rest. Tell her hi from all of us.

Hi to one and all, and I have about 'returned' to the 'land of the living!' Paige and I had such a wonderful time in Columbus, but will admit, the time was much too short to accomplish everything on our list. More later, as I need to get caught up here, and seems that we are having some 'liquid sunshine' today, hmmmm, why me??? On the 50 posts, I did check the boards when I first got home, and did get caught up, but man alive, you all were busy yesterday, as I barely managed to get caught up this morning. Love it!!!! Have a ton to add, but it will just have to wait for a few more days. Nanc

The photo above was part of the display at the 2nd. Annual Columbus History Celebration. This display was one of many provided by Mr. Jim Loesch.
