Beverly; I am John Mahoney (Buck to old friends). I remember nights at the hospital nurses quarters many years ago. When Dotty Griffiths and I were married in 1946, Clarence Henry Carl Vetter was my best man!! We are still married after almost 60-years and live in Sun City West, AZ How about an e-mail as to how you are today? Buck Mahoney

John - I was just informed about your message. My dad's name was Karl Louis Frederick Vetter (he was born in 1908 and died in 1960). He did not have any brothers. He was married to Edith Nolting who died in childbirth and then he married my mother, Julia Cunningham (who was 10 years younger than my dad and who is still living), in 1939 or 40. My grandfather's name was Charles Vetter. My great-grandfather's name was Carl Frederick Vetter (born 1839), but he changed his name to Charles when he came to the US from Germany in 1865. I don't know who Clarence Henry Carl Vetter is. There was a Clarence Henry Schwartzkopf (who died a couple years ago) whose grandfather was also Charles (Carl) Frederick Vetter. Could he have been your best man? My husband, Ken, and I were in the same CHS class of 1959 and have dated since we were 15. We have been married for 42.5 years, have 2 adult children, and 5 grandchildren. I retired from Irwin Management Co as VP of Client Services at the end of 2001 -- I worked there for 35 years. Ken has his own business, McDermott Tools. Just in case you wonder what I have been doing since I retired, our son and his 3 children (ages 11, 13 and 16) have been living with us for 2 years -- so I am a "mother" of teenagers -- it's much better the second time around. We have never regretted staying in Columbus and consider ourselves to be blessed. I hope we can straighten out who your best man was Best regards - Beverly Vetter McDermott

Beverly Vetter Mcdermott: I appreciate your answer to my quiry but unfortunately my best man and I graduated from C.H.S. in 1939. Clarence Vetter married a nurse from the Columbus hospital whose name was Beverly and I was his best man as he was mine in 1946 when we camw back from service. If there is anyone else on line that knows of either Clarence or Beverly I'd like to hear from you.

I'm just wondering if this 1959 Class has any plans for their 50th Reunion this year ? I can't seem to locate any info on one.
