Glad you asked about Burnsville. Why yes, I do have 2 class photos of Burnsville. One from the 1926-1927 school year (27 students, 1 teacher, 18 id’d) and one from the 1933-1934 (60 students, 2 teachers, 55 id’d) school year. Of course I also have my parents’ photos from the 1940’s & 1950’s but I haven’t numbered them yet.
Here are the complete names from the ones identified in my 2 old Burnsville photos:
ADAMS (Kathryn); ANDREWS (?, Verlan); ARMSTRONG (Alfred, Arthur); BARBOUR (Don); BEHRMAN (Waldo); BENNETT (?, Noble, Ruby); BROADY (Franklin); BURNS (?); CARMICHAEL (Alvin, Edith); CARSON (Esther, Gerald, Kathryn, Leon, Stanley); CHAMBERS (Charles); COCHRAN (?); ELLIOTT (John “Pete”); FIVECOAT (R.); FRIEDERSDORF (Norma Jean); HELT (Joe); HUFFMAN (Frank, Mary Helen, Todd B. Jr.); HUSTON (Peggy); JACKSON (Cecil, Donald, Ruby, Ruth); JONES (Buck); KELLER (Eva, Harold, Liberta); LOCKE (Francis); LOWRY (Lucille, Paul); MALSON (Earl); O’NEAL (Bill); PHEGLEY (Irene); PHILIPS (Donald); REED (Mrs. Goldie); ROGERS (Marifrances); ROMINE (Althea, Earl, Lavah, Rosa); RYAN (Louise); SPEER (Bob); SPRAGUE (Earl, Evelyn); TALKINGTON (Wilma); TERWILLIGER (Bertha); TUTTLE (Donald, Harley); UFFMAN (Billy Earl, Louis); WADE (Bob, Dorothy, Kathryn, Mabel, Paul, Sylvia); WHEELER (Marie); WHITTINGTON (Glenna); WILLIAMS (Dean, Jimmy, Max, Maxine, Robert); WILSON (Warren)
I also have photos of the schoolhouses themselves, both taken about 1900. We actually have a piece of one of the slate boards from Burnsville. My dad framed it and place two old coat hooks from there also on the frame to make a grocery list in our kitchen. He got them from my mom's cousin, the late Jim Muir, who turned the old school into a house many years ago.
