I'm think the next strip mall to appear in Columbus was Eastbrook Plaza.
W. T. Grants, Standard Grocery, Guarantee Auto, and wasn't Gene's Bakery located here by 1968?

This aerial photo must have been taken not too long after Irwin Union Bank opened their branch in Eastbrook Plaza. I know it's hard to read, but W T Grant is on the left side of Eastbrook Plaza and Standard Grocery on the right end. This is only a partial view of the total picture, as I wanted to give a fairly decent look at Eastbrook Plaza. At the time the bank was built, there wasn't much on this side of town!

This information from 1957 was in the Looking Back column in today’s paper.
F. W. Woolworth, W. T. Grant and Standard Food have signed leases for new stores at the Everroad Park shopping center at 25th street and U.S. 31. Today, that shopping center is known as Eastbrook Plaza.

Wasn't there a children's clothing store? La Vaughns or something like that?

I'm not sure if La Vaugh's was here or on up the street in the 25th street shopping center. I think Anderson's had their second shop here though. The orginal was downtown maybe next door to the old Rio. They built on to the center later on and Gene's was a few doors down from Standard. My sister worked there on her summer breaks. I think Dell Brothers had another store here too.

The following appeared in The Republic, Looking Back on August 11, 2010. The information was from this date in 1960.
Owners of Eastbrook Plaza announced that all store spaces were under lease and that the shopping center should be able to open by early October.
