Here is an email both Joy and I got from a friend we went to grade school and high school with. It would appear they had a good time at our event. Hope you all enjoy reading her comments. ********************************************************************* ********************************************************************* Dear Babs and Joy, Thank you for your excellent work on the HISTORICAL COLUMBUS CELEBRATION last Saturday. Joe and I enjoyed it so much. It brought back lots of memories and thoughts of good times. We lived in a ‘long-ago’ time when life seemed relatively simple with many ties with friends and family. I am so thankful for having both of you in our lives. Blessings to you and may the sun shine brightly in your lives. Love, Joann( Sebastian ) Daily and Joe Daily p.s. We stayed all day!

I stood and looked at these cords and skirt, but never bothered to notice the seats! Duh! I can't believe I was that dumb! Jim had mentioned he had some seats from the old gym at one of our meetings but I did not notice them at the Commons and now I feel really stupid!
The boys and girls never did this painting of their clothes when I was in high school; think it began shortly after we graduated but they are neat!

We had our "final/wrap up meeting" for the 2nd Annual Historic Columbus Celebration last night. Missed a few of our regular members. Michele served a delicious Dairy Queen cake that we all devoured. I had to leave early but the word I am getting is the next meeting, the one to actually begin exploring where we will have the THIRD ANNUAL COLUMBUS HISTORY CELEBRATION, will be June 18th at The Breeding Farm at 6 p.m. Hope all our regular members will be able to attend, and anyone else who would like to join our group is more than welcome.

I actually didn't know there was a meeting last night. Margie Faure called me at dinner time last nigth to ask if I knew. Said she couldn't find it on the message board, so I imagine she missed it, too.
Sorry!

For those who couldn't make it to the meeting, we are making a tentative date for the 2008 event for Saturday April 19th, 2008. We are strongly considering the Breeding Farm. It is rather remote from Columbus but it has historic background and lots of potential space.
Does anyone have any other ideas for a large space in Columbus that wouldn't cost an arm and a a leg and that is easily accessible?

I'm sorry, I should've put out a reminder about last night's meeting. Fully intended to and then it just slipped my mind. I have a sick hubby and between checking on him and running to do for my dad, etc, plus cleaning up garage sale things to donate, I don't know which end is up. Sorry that the meeting time, etc. did not get posted. Mea culpa folks! :-(
Anyhow as an early reminder, the next one is June 18th at 6 p.m. at the Breeding Farm...and I will get a notice on the boards a day or so before as a reminder.

I am currently in MO visiting my daughter, Sharon, and her family.
I had many, many positive comments about our Event.
I wanted to lett you know that it was very well received by many of my Church members and classmates from my CHS Class of '55. All in All, I think it was a HUGE success and it will be hard to top it! Everyone worked so well together, and it showed in the final project! Thanks to everyone for my beautiful roses, corsage, and organizer. I will enlist the aid of my son-in-law ,Duane, to help me figure it out! So very glad that David's Day was all we had hoped for !!! Don't ever forget, Dave, you are the heart and soul of this venture and we all love you !!
I hope to be able to attend the June meeting ," if the Good Lord's willin' and the creek don't rise " Grandma Margo
