The Belvedere was originally the Bissell Hotel. It was located on the northwest corner of 3rd and Franklin.

The Belvedere Hotel 1890sLocated 3rd & Franklin Street CornerComment: David Sechrest just started the Columbus Hotel site and so I thought the best way to start these posts would be posting this card picture of David's located in the other Columbus Historical web site. Notes: Notice the Trolley Car is electrical with the electrical line above the car. John S. Crump owned the hotel and the Trolley Car Company. The Trolley Cars were electrical starting in 1893 and prior to that Mr. Crump used mules and horses to pull the cars around for transportation. The Belvedere Hotel opened in 1891 and prior to that it was called the Bissell Hotel. Note further during those days the horses, wagons etc. were utilized. Source: David Sechrest's Columbus Historical Site. The picture is partial and enlarged and enhanced for better viewing of details.
