I remember it but never attended there. My brother did maybe to the 8th grade. This would have been in the mid 1950's. My thoughts was it was grades 1 thru 8, but not real sure. None of the entries have seemed to be that school. It could have been perhaps 3 miles from River Road going west. Can anyone enlighten me about this?” Bob Lane Quote Moved from the School Talk in General.

This was original posted in the School Talk in General thread by member BobLane. Hi folks, I'm now thinking the name of the school I wrote about was Lawless or Lawson or some name like that. Any thoughts on it? Bob Lane Hi Bob, my resource lists a school, on the south side of 150 North one-half mile west of 500 West (Mauxferry Road). This reference lists the name a Lawlis School Number 6. I’ll have this book and a county map with me this evening. I have no clue if this is a typo or the school had that spelling! Richard

This was original posted in the School Talk in General thread by member BobLane. Richard, thank you for finding the article on the school I mentioned. Kind of you to do the research. Lawlis School may find some past attending students. Comments to enlighten us about that time of our lives. Perhaps a thread for it is up coming. Bob Lane

This was original posted in the School Talk in General thread by member BobLane. Richard, I am sure the "Lawlis School is the one I knew in the early 50's. I could not be sure of the spelling being such a poor speller myself, but it is the right location. Will you have a thread for it sometime. I've only a few thoughts to add to it, but perhaps others will remember. Thanks for your research. Bob Lane

Yes, Gary Lane was my little brother, 5 years younger. Patty Bush was my cousin. The Sandlins were related to Don Sandlin. One was his brother, the others his cousins, my brother died several years ago.
