Oran; I was wondering who was taking charge of your class reunion. Back in 2005 John Dunlap. Class President of the Class of 1965, called me to ask if I would participate in putting together a band composed of members of bands of the sixties. I really wasn't anxious to get involved, but then he mentioned it would include members of the XLs, the Keentashies, Grub and the Gargoyles, the Kutouts, Garry and the Twi-Lighters and others. Those guys got me involved in playing rock and roll back when we were in school. We had a ball putting together a band and p;laying in the parking lot of the Columbus Bar for the Class of '65. We also played, with modification in memebership, for the Classes of '66, '67 and, this past summer, my class of '68. I was asked to see if we could continue with the Class of '69.
We normally communicate with e-mail, putting together prospective song lists and trying to round up the members. For the Class of '68 we rehearsed for three hours on the Friday before the show and then played for 4 hours at the Reunion. Everyone was very positive and we had a ball. Not to boast, but we still had conga lines snaking out through the crowd at midnight. Not bad for a bunch of old folks and, from what I have heard, a lot later than most 40 year reunions last. There were folks dancing all night.
I don't want to horn in on your reunion, but if you'd like I could help coordinate putting together the Reunion Band again for your reunion. However, I would expect you to put pressure on folks like Dave Stith, Terry Kirshman, Larry Guthrie, Garry Pugh, Barry Johnson (was he in your class?) and others to participate.
Although Dave Nay will run the mixer and I will provide PA equipment, you are welcome to help run sound. I remember you as a great band manager.

Oh, BTW, we don't charge anything. We only need a venue large enough to have a stage with room for two drum kits and two or three keyboards. Our reunion was at the Elks and that worked great.
