A nice feature of the HCI Message Board is the ability to search through our more than 10,000 postings for specific information! All you need to do is click on "Search", located at the top left of the webpage, under the Historic Columbus Indiana Message Board header. Once you click on Search, a window will open. 1) Type in what you want to search for in the first "What To Search" box. 2) Then turn your attention to "Where To Search" and double-click on the empty box "in the board" (2nd from the top). A window will open up. Click "Select All" and then click "Done" 3) Move over to "When To Search". In the box, "posted within the last", type in the number of days you wish to search. I usually type in 2000, as that will cover the entire time that the message board has been online. 4) Another window will open, displaying all the posts that include your original word search. I've attached a sample. I wanted to search for Donner park. There is a wealth of information on this board, and the search function is your friend. Although I have made attempts at keeping particular topics grouped together (i.e., all of the different topic folders you find on the main page), it would be impossible to do so for each and every unique person, place, or thing. For example, you will find numerous references to people, places, and businesses of our past in the 1800s Folder. Some may have their own folder. Others may not. Thus, the search function will help you to locate exactly and precisely what you wish to locate.

Also, as a reminder, if you want to keep abreast of the most recent posts, simply scroll down to the bottom of the main page, locate "recent posts" and click on the link. A new window will open with the latest, most recent postings.
