This was taken from sixth and Pearl Streets with the Industrial Building in the center. I was standing in that area this evening and saw the east wall, which was the last wall standing, as it was pushed over.

The next five pictures were taken along sixth street. Notice how close the power lines are to the back wall of the gym.

This is the location of the bricks. Notice the sign. Bricks are only available after 6:30 P.M. I understand the trucks hauling the debris are using the gate at sixth and pearl streets and the people picking the bricks up had become a safety hazzard.

Richard, as Margo said, thanks for taking all the pics of the demolition of Central. I know it's a sad time for all those who once attended the old school.
Your pictures really capture many emotions...

There is a discussion going on about perhaps burning CD's of the old school (previous ones from say the Logs, etc.) and the demolition of the school this past week or so. Anyone having any interest we would like to hear from you. One of our members has spent a good deal of time and energy running by the school each day to capture the destruction of our old high school/middle school and we thought some of you might like to have an album so to speak about the event.
Should we finalize this we will be posting to let everyone know how to get a CD, the cost, etc. as it is just in "the thinking stage" right now. The monies generated would then go towards the upkeep of the Historic Columbus Indiana website.

Richard, TERRIFIC PICTURES! Thanks so much for all your efforts. Its sad to see all of them but still something I am drawn to look at. We went down the first day and saw the beginning but then went out of town for a week so didn't get a chance to see anymore than that first day.
I so appreciate all your efforts and you take "great pictures"! :-)

Babs ************************* Count me in for at least one and I will contact some other graduates to see if they would be interested also once we determined the cost. GREAT FUNDRAISER !!
I have one friend who has taken a fantastic black and white photo of a single school desk with a pencil on it with some of the CHS rubble in the background. She is going to make me a copy and I would like very much to include it if at all possible. Gma Margo
