O'Neill Family History Attempting to put together family history on Clint O'Neill and Lucille Talkington O'Neill. I believe that Clint's parents were Fred and Della and all lived out by the fairgrounds. Fred's mothers name may have been Laura Shallor. Saw Nanc mentioned Clint in Saddle Club membership listing, so hoping someone knows something. Have info on children. Checked Garland Brook Cemetary info already, but not sure which one is Lucille's mother. Thinking Dolly, but see none of the three other children listed there. Any info would be appreciated.

Whoa, and I did not realize that 'Talkington' was in Lucille's background........................am wondering if there is a connect with Sharon Talkington Renner, also active in Saddle Club things. Likely, she is listed in the phone book under Keith Renner, at Terrace Lake.....................'Someone' passed not too long ago within the O'Neill family, and perhaps a seach of The Republic archives might come up with info for you. Where there is a will there is a way. Good luck on your checking. Nanc ;)

Thanks for the tip Nanc. It was Roger that passed away, Clint and Lucille's middle son who was originally married to Karen Williamson, who passed away three months before Roger. LaVaughn Zink passed as well, who you may have known via Lucille. I suspect you knew Lucille as Sturgeon?

LaVaughn Zink passed as well, who you may have known via Lucille. I suspect you knew Lucille as Sturgeon? In reality I knew Lucille in the 1940s, when Clint and Lucille's boys were little. Danny had a 'fiery' little bay pony, named I believe, Champion. And Lucille worked at the Mode Theater on Washington St., sold the theater tickets. In some old home movies of our 'horsey days,' that Sharon shared with me a couple of years ago, shows Lucille handing out the ribbons at a horse show at the fairgrounds. The name LaVaughn Zink does not ring any bells, and I only knew Lucille as O'Neill. You might check the 1950s LIFE photos on the message boards, as we sort of believe that there is a photo of Clint O'Neill, with another police officer, loading bags of coins, taken in front of the City Hall/police department. Fascinating, these message boards, and so much fun!!!!!!! Nanc

Too fun! It is difficult to tell from the side view, however, I have a couple of pix of him in uniform and I would have to agree that it is him. Thanx!

And another flash thought------------Sharon's dad was 'Ralph Talkington,' don't know if this is a connect for you, or not, but according to my uncle's autobiography, (we all should be so lucky as to have had a relative so accurately document their life, and he lived to be 102) he was a childhood friend of Ralph's, and believe that would have been in Burnsville. That was a revelation for me-------------as Ralph was, as far as I was aware, my dad's friend, and not connected to my uncle at all.
I wish you all kinds of good luck in your searches, and do keep us 'up to date' on what you find.
Nanc ;-)
