I am looking for any information I can obtain on my great great grandfather, George W. Stevenson. He was born in PA about 1812, moved to IN around 1835 with his wife Eleanor Fraim Stevenson. They had four children including my great grandmother Mary Jane Stevenson. Eleanor and her oldest son John both died in July of 1846 and both are buried in the "Original Burial Grounds West" in Columbus. George then returned to PA with his three remaining children. They appear in the 1850 PA census living with his mother. George returned to Columbus where he married Martha Ellen Parkinson in 1848. He and Martha had four Children, John, Elizabeth, George and Ann. I would love any information on this family and most especially when George, Sr. died and where he is buried, Thanks, Joan

I couldn't find any evidence of George Stevenson being buried in the county. Eleanor and son John are buried in the Columbus City Cemetery (in the section called the Original Burial Ground - West (OBW)). If you would like I will go over and locate the grave markers, take a digital photo of the gravesite and post it here or email it to you. Just let me know. Stevenson does not appear to be a common name in this area. there were only 4 matches in the burial record...the other two appeared unrelated. Hi Ricky,
I'm embarrased that I haven't checked back on this site since I posted my original message back in March of this year. I would appreciate it very much if you could take a digital photo of the grave site of Eleanor Stevenson and her son John...weather permitting. If you could email it to me at millabreu@aol.com that would be wonderful. I live in Florida and the chances of my getting up to your area are very slight.
Thank you so much for all of your help. Have a wonderful holiday and a happy and healthy New Year. Joan E. Miller
