This is a picture of dad and I at Irwin Gardens, it appears to be in the pillared area where the photo for the post card was taken, but the sculpture is not shown in the post card. I will have to go down to the Gardens and check out the location. This picture would have been in the late 1930's, so I guess the Sculpture may have been moved,or removed altogether by now. In reference to post 146 the sculpture is still in the gardens and is located at the east side in the gardens, or the Pearl St. side. Photo courtesy of Richard

Seeing where the railroad tracks went thru Flat Rock and the river being maybe 1/4 to 1/2 mile north of Flat Rock I would think that this would be the location of this trestle bridge , anyone ?, Linda maybe your brother would have the answer.

The first school built on the west hill in Edinburgh. The school was built in 1869 and was replaced by a new school in 1912. The 1912 school was replaced several years ago by the present school on the east side of Edinburgh. This card is dated 1911.

Hi to all, and George, this most recent postcard of Washington Street, shows the City Hall, with the fire station to the west. I cannot find anywhere the postcard of that fire station, that I thought was here------ I finally found this postcard referenced in the fire dept. thread, post # 45, as it was on sale on eBay---------but in looking at the copy that I printed out, on the right/west side there is a part of a white building. In the Washington St. postcard, it would appear that there is a 'white something' in 'almost' that same position. As well, as 'quite' an open space by the fire station. Just my thinking. Nanc

Hi Nanc, that building was there in a 1900 picture, but just shows the side of the building on the west side of the alley. In a 1920 picture it is the flat iron restaurant. Go to the City of Columbus Fire Dept. history book and go to page 8 and page 20, it shows the building, there is a picture on page 24 also. Hope things are getting better out there . George
